Dear National geographic,
I am a 9th grade student at sir Francis Drake High School. I am fourteen years old and have a passion for photography. I am writing to you because I would like to inquire about a position as a photographer at National Geographic. I discovered national geographic at a very young age. I always was most interested in the pictures and how beautiful and interesting they all were. I was really drawn to the wild life shots and from then on have always had the dream to do something like that with my career.
I started taking photos when I was about 12 years old and am now 14. I started with a small canon point and shoot, and when I was 13 I saved up 1200 dollars to buy a canon EOS rebel t3i for my birthday. I improved right away and photography became something I knew I wanted to stick to. Ever since I have been doing a wide variety of different types of photography. From portraits, landscapes, sports, school and benefit events. I have worked babysitting and doing minor construction work for family. I have also taken portraits for family friends. I was also in my school's yearbook class where I took and edited most of the photos that were put into the yearbook. Next year I plan on taking art exploration and moving on to photography class to improve and work on my passion.
If interested, you can contact me at my email [email protected] or contact me on my cell phone at (415) 747-5587. I am reachable anytime after 4 p.m. and anytime on weekends.
Thank you for taking this time out of your day to read this letter and for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about this exciting opportunity. Any advice or comments are much appreciated. Reply at your leisure. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Lavetta Clark-Poets
